The Self-Perpetuating Circle
Strength gives us capability.
Balance teaches us to control that capability.
Confidence gives us the willingness to trust and use it.
And somewhere in that process, something else begins to develop.
• Proprioception — our internal sense of where the body and its joints are positioned in space, even without looking.
• Kinesthetic awareness — our ability to sense and understand the movement of the body: direction, speed, tension, force and coordination.
• Self-awareness — our ability to recognize what the body is doing, how it is responding and what adjustments need to be made.
We become more aware of where our body is in space, how it is moving, where our weight is distributed, and how to make the subtle corrections necessary to remain in control.
That awareness creates trust in our own movement.
And that trust becomes confidence.
Confidence removes hesitation.
We move more freely. Challenge ourselves more willingly. Become stronger and more capable.
And greater strength gives us an even larger foundation from which to develop balance, awareness and confidence.
Around and around it goes.
- Strength creates balance.
- Balance develops awareness.
- Awareness builds confidence.
- Confidence allows us to express our strength.
And every trip around the circle makes the circle even stronger.
Break the Paradigm.
